Gently inserted into acupuncture points by a skilled acupuncturist, the slender needle produces little to no sensation.  When a sensation is felt, most patients experience a slight tingling sensation.  First time patients are usually surprised at how comfortable they feel during a treatment.

How many treatments and how often?

Are Acupuncture Needles Sterile and Safe?
Yes.  The government requires acupuncturist to follow very strict sterilization procedures. In addition, presterilized acupuncture needles are manufactured, packaged, and shipped in sterilized containers to ensure compliance with the law.  After each individual use all needles are disposed of in a biohazard container.  Neddles are only used on one individual. Each insertion is made with a new fresh needle.

What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a complex branch of ancient Chinese medicine, but it's practical principles and methods are easily understood.
  • Fourteen major energy channels course through the human body including the head, arms, legs, feet, torso, and internal organs.
  • A subtle energy called Chi circulates via the meridians to all parts of the body, even the most remote cell.
  • Chi is the vital force, the presence of which separates the living form the dead. Its balanced, unimpeded flow is critical to sound health.
  • Any misdirection, blockage, or other derangement of the amount, flow, or balance of chi main result in emotional or physical pain, dysfunction, and illness.
  • Acupuncture stimulates certain points allong the channels of energy on the body.  This stimulation helps to restore the normal balance and flow of energy throughout the body.  This helps the systems of the body work in harmony and health.
